Why partnerships go wrong
Partners often start as friends or family with a handshake. Over time one feels they work more, another feels they invested more, and silent frustration grows.
பார்ட்னர்ஷிப் உடைவது பெரும்பாலும் எதிர்பார்ப்புகள் தெளிவாக இல்லாததால்தான்.
Write roles clearly
Decide who owns sales, operations, finance and people. Each partner should have clear responsibilities and measures, so effort is visible, not assumed.
Separate salary from profit share
A working partner can take a fixed monthly salary for their role, and remaining profit can be shared by agreed capital or ownership ratios. This reduces arguments about who works more.
Agree how decisions are made
List which decisions need all partners — large investments, borrowing, hiring senior staff — and which each partner can make alone within their area.
Put it in a partnership deed
A written deed should cover capital, profit sharing, roles, withdrawals, adding partners and exit terms. Get it drafted or reviewed by a qualified lawyer or chartered accountant.
Your first action this week
Sit with your partner for one hour and write down each person's role, salary, profit share and the three decisions you must take together.
