What an SOP really is
A standard operating procedure is a short written way of doing a repeated task: taking an order, quoting, dispatching or handling a complaint. It does not need to be a thick manual.
SOP என்பது ஒரு வேலையை ஒவ்வொரு முறையும் ஒரே மாதிரி சரியாகச் செய்யும் எழுதப்பட்ட வழி.
Start with tasks that come back to you
Note every question your team asks you in one week. The most repeated questions show which SOPs to write first.
Keep it to one page
Use steps, a checklist and an example of good output. Record a short phone video if writing is hard; your team can follow both.
Delegate the result, not just the task
Tell the person what done looks like, the deadline and who decides when something unusual happens. Review results, not every step.
Review and improve
Ask the person doing the task to update the SOP when they find a better way. The SOP stays useful only when it matches real work.
Your first action this week
Pick one task you repeat daily, write its steps on one page and hand it to a team member to try while you watch once.
