Why growing businesses run short of cash
More orders often mean more stock, more credit given to customers and more salaries paid before money comes in. A business can be profitable and still struggle to pay suppliers.
லாபம் இருந்தாலும் கையில் பணம் இல்லையென்றால் தொழில் நிற்கும்.
Know your receivables every week
List who owes you money, how much and for how many days. Follow up on the oldest amounts first, politely and on a fixed day each week.
Set clear credit rules
Decide credit limits and days per customer before you deliver. New customers can start with advance or partial payment until trust is built.
Plan payments, not just sales
Keep a simple 8-week view of expected money in and money out: salaries, rent, GST, loan EMIs and supplier dues. Gaps you see early are easier to solve.
Control stock that sits idle
Slow-moving stock is cash locked on a shelf. Review it monthly and clear or stop reordering items that do not move.
Your first action this week
Write down your top ten outstanding customer payments with days overdue, and call the three oldest. Speak to your auditor or banker for financing decisions.
