Expansion multiplies what already exists
A new branch or franchise repeats your current business. If the first location depends on the owner, has unclear margins or inconsistent quality, those problems multiply too.
ஒரு கிளை நன்றாக ஓடினால் மட்டுமே அதை பல கிளைகளாக மாற்ற முடியும்.
Check your readiness
Ask honestly: is the first unit profitable for at least a year, can it run without you for two weeks, and are recipes, processes or service steps written down?
Know your unit economics
Calculate setup cost, monthly running cost, expected sales and how long a new unit needs to recover its investment. Use conservative numbers, not best-month numbers.
Own branch or franchise?
Your own branches give more control but need more capital and managers. Franchising uses partners' capital but needs strong training, brand rules, legal agreements and support. Take professional legal and tax advice before signing franchise agreements.
Common expansion mistakes
Opening too fast, choosing locations on emotion, picking partners only for money and leaving no time to support the new unit are frequent reasons expansions struggle.
Your first action this week
Write the ten most important steps that make your current location work. If you cannot write them, build systems first and expand after.
