Why inventory quietly eats profit
For many traders, retailers and manufacturers, the biggest part of working capital sits on shelves. Slow items tie up money, take space and sometimes lose value before they sell.

Find your dead and slow stock
List every item with its quantity, value and last sale date. Anything not sold in 90 days needs a decision: discount, bundle, return to supplier or stop reordering.
Use simple ABC analysis
A items bring most of your sales value, B items are steady, C items are many but small. Check A items weekly, B items monthly, and keep C items lean.
Set reorder levels
For key items, note average daily sales and supplier lead time. Reorder when stock reaches that lead-time quantity plus a small safety buffer, instead of buying on feeling or supplier offers.
Make one person responsible
Software helps, but discipline matters more. Give one team member a weekly stock count and a short report of shortages, excess and slow items.
Your first action this week
Pull your top 50 items by value, mark anything unsold for 90 days and decide one action for each before placing your next purchase order.
