The owner-dependent team
If staff wait for you before every decision, the business can only move as fast as you. Good team management is not more supervision; it is clearer expectations.
ஒவ்வொரு முடிவுக்கும் உங்களை கேட்க வேண்டிய நிலை இருந்தால், அது team பிரச்சனை அல்ல — system பிரச்சனை.
Give every role a result, not just tasks
Write what each person is responsible for achieving, such as orders dispatched on time or collections followed up, and the one or two numbers that show it.
Start the day with priorities
A ten-minute morning check on the day's top priorities avoids confusion. Keep it short and standing, and note who is doing what.
Review weekly, not randomly
Hold a fixed weekly review of results against targets. Discuss problems and agree one action each. Random checking feels like policing; a fixed review feels fair.
Delegate decisions with limits
Allow staff to decide within clear limits, for example approving discounts up to a set amount. Increase the limit as they show good judgement.
Your first action this week
Pick your most dependent team member and write their role, the result expected and the decisions they can take without asking you.
